THE STORY
Justin John Scheck's Blue-Collar Diaries has reached its final chapter.
What began as an ambitious series of concept albums has evolved into a multimedia body of work examining love, solidarity, addiction, spirituality, mental illness, politics, class and the experience of being working class in America.
Now, with the project's sixth and culmination album and the feature film A Peasant's Voice: The Divided States of the Poor Working Class, Scheck brings the entire journey together.
The film is currently making its way through film festivals around the world, introducing audiences to an intensely personal American story created outside the traditional entertainment system.
Written, produced and directed by Scheck, it combines music, performance and personal storytelling to examine the life experiences that shaped his worldview and the larger social divisions that surround them.
This is not simply an album accompanied by a film.
The album and film are two expressions of the same final chapter.
THE FILM
A PEASANT'S VOICE: THE DIVIDED STATES OF THE POOR WORKING CLASS
A Peasant's Voice is a feature film and one-man show written, produced and directed by Justin John Scheck.
The film tells its story through music and song, transforming the artist's personal experiences into a larger examination of American life.
At its center is Scheck's struggle with mental illness and the ways those experiences shaped his life and worldview.
But the film ultimately reaches beyond autobiography.
It asks what happens when a person who has spent years on the margins decides to step forward and speak.
The film emerged during the intense political and social atmosphere surrounding the 2024 presidential election and became a deeply personal response to a country increasingly divided along political, economic and cultural lines.

The Blue-Collar Diaries is, in part, a series of 5 Concept Albums. These are the Artist's favorites from the collection, most of them Remixed and Remastered by the Artist. JJS wrote, performed, Mixed and Mastered all of the songs that make up the albums of The Blue-Collar Diaries and uses Logic Pro exclusively.
Its is a love letter to the working class, in hopes that this time, We The People… do not again mistake the pawns for the Kings.

Bio of artist/activist
justin john scheck
Justin John Scheck was born and grew up in Cleveland, OH, and came of age in a small Farming town in Illinois outside of Chicago.
He is a self taught Multi-Disciplinary Artist, Singer Songwriter, Filmmaker, Author and Music Producer, using an MPC, Keyboard, Guitar, Smart Phone and Computer exclusively.
He uses Logic Pro to record his music, and tends to improvise everything, often using his first take. What JJS claims he swings for is "As if Tom Waits, Kurt Cobain and Antonin Artaud went back to the 19th Century and taught Pirates about Music, Music Production and Fimmaking.”
He has bounced around the Midwest all his life, never having lived anywhere else. He is a former member of Crooks And Children and The Cordeliers out of Chicago, Il. He has created and self released 5 Albums, a podcast Mini-Series and a one Man Show and Film in less than 3 years time.
He currently resides in Kansas City, Mo.
